Shadow Creek Golf Course, Las Vegas

More than a few golfers have made it clear that they consider the Shadow Creek Golf Course, located in Las Vegas, Nevada, one of the top fifty golf courses in the entire world. State side, it is thought to be the most expensive, most exclusive, and most uniquely original and ambitious golf course to be found in the United States. It is everything you would expect a golf course in Las Vegas to be, which was likely Steve Wynn's purpose when the flamboyant mogul originally thought it up.

The Shadow Creek Golf Course sits on three hundred and fifty acres of land and its layout was in part created by Tom Fazio, a well known architect specializing in golf courses. Although the course is only fifteen years old, it has already amassed the legendary status usually enjoyed only by the most venerable and prestigious private clubs in the United States.

To enjoy all that Shadow Creek has to offer, you have to be a guest at the likewise legendary MGM Mirage Hotel and Casino. Otherwise, you will not even be able to see the course, due to a towering chain link fence and strategic piles of earth.

However, playing on this course is worth a stay at the Mirage. Not only does it have lakes, creeks, and waterfalls, but this desert course is actually smack in the middle of a lush, verdant forest comprised of more that two hundred different varieties of trees. To call it private it is an understatement. Shadow Creek is the epitome of what it means to be eclusive.
